EMPOWER 2024
Our Empower conference aims to enlighten high school students about higher education and college, more specifically, in the areas of engineering, a highly impacted career pathway. At Empower, we will welcome high school students with open arms on campus, here at UCSD, and deliver a message meant to broaden their eyes on college, engineering, being a Hispanic in engineering, and UCSD. We seek to have them experience college life and support them in an engineering education. Our grand motive is for students to leave feeling impacted and better guided to further make decisions as they grow in life.
WHAT IS EMPOWER?
Have you ever wondered what college is like? Are you interested in pursuing a career in STEM but still unsure what major to choose? Want to engage in hands on workshops that teach engineering principles? Every year the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at UCSD hosts the Empower High School Conference to inspire high school students to follow a career in the STEM field. At EMPOWER, participants will have the opportunity to network with UCSD students and faculty, engage in hands-on engineering workshops, and also learn about the many opportunities that a STEM degree can provide.
